I had been searching for the ideal institution, one that would allow me to grow professionally, value my input and current skillset whilst simultaneously assisting me in pursuing and developing new skills, expertise, and interests. In my search I opted to join XJTLU a little over a year ago and have not regretted my decision in choosing to be a part of the XJTLU family, and more specifically, the School of Languages (SoL) family at XJTLU. 

Since I have joined XJTLU, I have had countless professional opportunities offered to me in respect of professional development and support in pursuing personal interests. I have also been able to become actively involved in the at XJTLU in multiple areas and have had my eagerness and willingness to get involved in ELC related tasks welcomed and met with support within the short time I have been at the institution. 

I have undoubtedly loved every moment of my time at XJTLU so far, not just for career and professional reasons, but also because of the open, receptive, friendly and supportive demeanour of staff and lecturers, who are helpful and welcoming from the moment you sign on as a lecturer and throughout your time at XJTLU, and the individual attention leadership within the School are willing to offer/and do offer all staff members.

Another one of my favourite things about being a part of the SoL family is the variety and amount of social opportunities available to all staff members. These sometimes take the form of evenings out with fellow colleagues, as well as extra-curricular activities such as yoga and kickboxing sessions offered to staff free of charge which allow staff to get to know each other better, build friendships/work relationships and form valuable bonds with each other. In fact, the only real difficulty I have had so far, is attempting to stop myself from wanting to do and be a part of all the opportunities and experiences XJTLU have to offer their staff members.
