About
Garth Elzerman joined KOTESOL when he first arrived in Korea, in 2019, and served as the 2019 International Conference HR Coordinator. For the 2021 International Conference, he assisted with coordinating the Zoom-room hosts. He was elected to the position of 2022 International Conference Co-chair and is now chairing the 2023 Korea TESOL International Conference. Garth moved to Korea in early 2019 from South Africa. He is now teaching at Kyungdong University in Sokcho, Gangwon-do. He has a master’s degree in philosophy from the University of South Africa, a postgraduate certificate in education from Essex University, a honours degree in philosophy from UNISA, a TESOL certificate from the Wits University, and a baccalaureate in philosophy, psychology, and law from Rhodes University. He will soon be undertaking his doctoral studies in moral emotions.Sessions

Update: This session has been moved to room 204. This year’s spring conference is the 30th international conference that is being held by Korea TESOL. It is also the 30th anniversary of KOTESOL as an organization (1993–2023). In recognition of this dual celebration, this panel will reflect back over the past 30 years to evaluate how well KOTESOL has served the ELT community as well as look forward to project what directions KOTESOL should take and what changes KOTESOL should make to best serve our ever-changing and increasingly rapidly changing ELT community. Our panelists consists of long-term KOTESOL members with distinguished leadership experience and institutional knowledge, including as national president and international conference chair.
